Hello I’M ASIA PAIX - welcome to my Silk Journal shop. So glad to have you here ^_^

This is a shop with silk scarves...mostly. I also like to have a wee variety, so there’s drawings, t-shirts* and scrunchies* on here too . Everything that I feel is essential for me to keep my world cosy, soft and colourful. Things that I’d love to give to precious people in my life. In short, personal things that I have made, for you, ready to be picked up right away or available to order. A few words about me. I’m Asia Paix and I’m the hands, eyes and dreams behind Silk Journal. I’m a designer, animal lover and massage therapist - currently training to become an embodied facilitator. I went to Glasgow School of Art, worked in Fashion in London, Paris and Venice only to realise that the real luxury is in my own hands and in the freedom of creating...happiness.

I made the first collection of scarves over the first lockdown in 2020. It was the time when I felt both the strongest feelings and the greatest emptiness. I was lost, broke, far from my fam and all I felt like doing was painting - smiley dogs and flowers, cats having cakes and martinis, bunnies with friendly gazes and never-breaking hugs. Painting these little pups clumsily trying to have a nice time was a way of processing my emotions and having some structure and purpose. My heart needed to be cared for. I tried again and again to achieve that with my images. I think it worked.

I paint these friendly wonders as I don’t yet know how to BE them. The scarves are wee maps of how I am or how I want to be. Through drawing I’m trying and practicing. For months I collect words, impressions or wee faces that move my heart. I put them together into postcards of kindness, togetherness of friendships and heart-shaped moments of sharing.

Silk Journal is a documentary, really.
